Pace Converter & Race Tools for Runners
Make sure the toggle at the top is set to Pace → Speed, then
type your pace in mm:ss format (e.g. 7:30) and your
speed will appear instantly.
Use the Mile / KM toggle in the converter. Your input will automatically be converted to the new unit.
Tap the ⋯ menu button in the top-right corner and choose Reference Table to open a full chart of common paces and their equivalent speeds in both MPH and KM/H.
While a result is showing in the converter, tap the ★ star button to pin it. View all your pinned conversions any time by opening the ⋯ menu and choosing Favorites.
Open the ⋯ menu and tap Race Calculator. In Pace → Time mode, enter your target pace and pick a distance (5K, 10K, Half, Full, or a custom distance) to see your projected finish time. Switch to Time → Pace mode to enter a goal finish time instead — the app will show the target pace and speed you need to hit, in both min/mi with MPH and min/km with KM/H.
A negative split strategy means running each mile (or km) a little faster than the previous one. Open Negative Splits from the ⋯ menu, enter your total target time, distance, and how many seconds per split you want to drop, and the app will generate a complete split plan for you.
Yes! RunPace includes a companion Watch app with a pace ↔ speed converter and a race finish-time calculator, controllable via the Digital Crown.
Open Run History from the tools menu. Your running workouts from Apple Health appear automatically. Use Week, Month, or Year to choose the history window; the Year view can be filtered to a specific year or All Time. The selected window shows its date range, totals, average speed, and running cadence. Year view groups runs by calendar month, while shorter windows group them by week.
The Trends tab compares activity over a selectable range — last month, last 3 months, last 6 months, last year, or all time — and includes speed, pace, and volume charts. Scrub a chart with your finger to inspect an individual run.
Expand Highlights & Personal Bests in the Trends tab to see your all-time best efforts at common distances. Tap a record card to see the current mark, the previous best it beat, the improvement, how long the previous mark stood, and the full record progression over time. Longer runs can contribute an estimated mark at a shorter distance, labelled est. in the progression.
Select ALL to see your overall average-speed trend across every run in the chosen date range. Select a named distance such as 5K or 10K to compare like-for-like efforts. A run is included in a named-distance breakdown when its recorded distance is within 5% of that distance; the card shows both the matching range and how many runs were included. Runs outside those ranges still count toward ALL and your volume statistics.
Open Settings from the tools menu and choose a screen under Default Screen. You can start in the Converter, a race or split calculator, Run History, Favorites, or the Reference Table. The choice takes effect the next time you open RunPace.
Read-only access to your running workouts, their recorded distance, average heart rate, and elevation metadata when available — nothing else. The app does not access sleep, weight, location, or any other health data, and it never writes anything back to Apple Health. You can revoke access any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → RunPace. See the privacy policy for full detail.
